Castries Cruise Port Guide

Castries, St. Lucia

Lush mountains, the iconic Pitons, a drive-in volcano and quiet bays make St. Lucia one of the most scenic stops in the Caribbean.

Castries, St. Lucia

About Castries

Castries is the capital of St. Lucia, a volcanic island in the Eastern Caribbean known for its rainforest and the twin Pitons. Ships dock in the harbor right by town, either at Pointe Seraphine or along the Castries waterfront.

St. Lucia is a great port for scenery lovers and anyone who enjoys a mix of land and sea. My favorite days here include the drive or boat ride down the west coast to Soufriere, where the Pitons rise straight out of the sea.

Things to do

  • See the Gros Piton and Petit Piton, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, near Soufriere
  • Visit the Sulphur Springs, often called the Caribbean's drive-in volcano
  • Explore the fort ruins and views at Pigeon Island National Landmark
  • Admire the sheltered, yacht-filled harbor at Marigot Bay
  • Browse the Castries Central Market for local spices, crafts and fruit
