A tiny, peaceful island with powdery beaches, a historic lighthouse and dramatic wall snorkeling just offshore.

Grand Turk is a small island in the Turks and Caicos, home to the territory's capital, Cockburn Town. Ships dock at the cruise center on the island's southern tip, which sits right on a beautiful beach.
This is a relaxing port with clear water, soft sand and a slow island pace. It suits beachgoers and snorkelers, and the island is small enough that you can see a lot of it in a few hours.
Here are my favorite ways to spend a cruise day in Grand Turk. Each one opens on Viator, where you can check the times, reviews and price before you book.

Snorkel the crystal-clear water off Grand Turk, including the edge of the famous wall where the reef drops into the deep blue.

Half Moon Cay is one of my all-time favorite private islands - the sand is unbelievably soft, hands-down the best I’ve ever felt!

My favorites: swim and relax at Governor's Beach on the west coast; see the historic Grand Turk Lighthouse on the island's northern tip; stroll the colonial buildings along Front Street in Cockburn Town; learn island history at the Turks and Caicos National Museum; snorkel near the reef wall that drops off steeply close to shore.
US dollar.
The beach is right next to the pier and Cockburn Town is a short taxi ride north, while many visitors explore by taxi, tour or golf cart.
