Carnival Cruise Line, the world’s largest cruise operator, has reached an agreement in principle with the Canaveral Port Authority on a new state-of-the-art terminal able to accommodate its new 180,000-ton ship, the largest ever constructed for the line, set to debut in 2020.
The vessel will offer an array of groundbreaking, never-before-seen features and attractions while also being the first North American-based cruise ship to be powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), part of Carnival Corporation’s “green cruising” design platform.
Construction of the 180,000-ton cruise ship is scheduled to begin in November 2018 with the official steel-cutting ceremony at the Meyer-Werft shipyard in Turku, Finland. Further ship details, along with itineraries from Port Canaveral, are expected to be announced in 2019.
These MEGA ships are well-received by many, but there are also others who don’t care for them. Let us know what your thoughts are… Do you prefer the big ships, or smaller ships?
With a 180,000 GT ship, engineers/designers can pack so many great fun things to do on-board. Some of the things that I expect to be included on this ship are below…
The above have proven to be extremely popular on Carnival ships, and I expect this trend to continue on Carnival’s MEGA ship in 2020. There are also my "wish-list things", things that I HOPE will be included on this new ship, but I’m not holding my breath…
Wouldn’t it be great if we could design our own ship, and cruise on it for a week? Sign me up!
Beginning in 2019, we will learn more about Carnival’s BIGGEST ship EVER. This includes itineraries, features, booking dates, room types, etc. Some things, however, may be known/leaked before then. Be sure to stay up-to-date on all things regarding this MEGA ship on our exclusive Carnival MEGA Ship 2020 Facebook Page.
So, how interested are you in cruising this new MEGA ship? Will you go out of your way to book this ship, or will you stick to the smaller ships? Let me know below…
Have a great weekend! And as always, thank YOU for your loyalty!

Hi Cruisers! Thanks for joining me here on the very first installment of The CBT Blog! These blogs will consist of tips, news, photos, and all things cruising! After all, cruising is the best way to vacation, right!?
For this first Blog, I’ll keep it brief and introduce myself. Here’s a little about me...
A little about me: My name is Jim and... well .... let’s just say that I LOVE CRUISING. My very first cruise was back in 2004 on the Carnival Inspiration out of Tampa. At the time, the Inspiration was one of the newer ships! The most exciting thing on-board was a pool (yes, that was considered exciting in the cruise industry back then :). Since then, we have witnessed the cruise industry evolve. To date, I have been on thirteen different cruises (and numerous ship visits), with my most recent onboard the beautiful Carnival Sunshine (2018)!
Does anyone else cruise this much?? It’s almost like the cruises book themselves, but hey, I’m not complaining!
Back in 2015, I graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Immediately, I knew that I wanted to combine my Cruise Knowledge with my business degree, and thus, Caribbean Breeze Travel was born. Fast forward a few years.. And now, here I am typing this from my Office, humbled by the growth that Caribbean Breeze Travel (CBT) has experienced these past few years. I have the best clients in the industry, and for that I am thankful. Thank YOU!
After having so many cruise days, I’ve developed a lot of “Favorites”. I’ll use the below space to list some of my personal cruise favorites….
And by contrast, I’ve developed a few “Not So Favorites”
I will say, my “Not So Favorites” list was difficult to come up with. There are just so many great things about cruising! It really is the best way to vacation, and it will remain this way for many years to come.
As I wrap up this first mini installment, I want to thank you for tuning in! More fun, news, and smooth seas ahead!
